Other lenses that use blue light "cut-off" filters result in a lens with extreme color distortion and are too dark for everyday use. BLUESAFE 24 lenses are based on in-vivo studies of human sensitivity to blue light performed at the CIRCADIAN® Light Research Center and are designed to deliver a safe limit of night-time blue light of less than 2 microwatts per square centimeter when used in typical residential and commercial lighting conditions. Our evidence-based lens design philosophy enables an optimized product that provides the necessary blue light protection with minimal interference to color vision and brightness, supporting consistent use of the eyewear to achieve the desired improvements to circadian health.

BLUESAFE 24 lenses were developed following 10 years of research into human performance optimization at the CIRCADIAN® Light Research Center, led by Dr. Moore-Ede MD PhD, a leading expert in circadian science and a former professor at Harvard Medical School. Unlike glass and CR-39 plastic lenses which are heavy and prone to breakage on impact, BLUESAFE 24 lenses are formed with ophthalmic-grade polycarbonate: a lightweight plastic with 100% UV blocking, exceptional clarity and impact resistance.

BLUESAFE 24 lenses were developed following more than a decade of original research by our founding team of medical doctors, biomedical engineers and research scientists. Our original lens designs are based on insights obtained from studies performed at the CIRCADIAN® Light Reseach Center, a research center established by our founding team in 2010 dedicated to understanding the contribution of light on 24/7 human performance. BLUESAFE 24 lenses are provided in complete eyewear frame+lens packages using optical-grade TR-90 Nylon frames, the same material found in the world's top premium sports eyewear and active sunglass brands. Our TR-90 frames are 30% lighter than acetate, have excellent chemical resistance, and are highly resilient to repeated mechanical stress.
